Welcome to Cordial Physiotherapy
Cordial Physiotherapy is a physiotherapy clinic in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. This article introduces how we work, so you know what to expect before a first visit.
Who you will see
The clinic is led by its founder, Yvonne Lau, a Hong Kong registered physiotherapist and registered nurse. Your assessment and treatment are carried out by a registered physiotherapist.
Assessment comes first
Care starts with an assessment. We take your history, look at how you move, and go through what has been changing your symptoms at work, at home or in sport. We then explain what we found in plain language — including what is still uncertain — and agree a direction with you.
What treatment may involve
Depending on that assessment, treatment may include manual therapy, rehabilitation exercise and other suitable adjuncts. Acupuncture may be considered after assessment where it is clinically appropriate; it is provided by a physiotherapist accredited in acupuncture by the Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association (HKPA). Nothing is applied as a routine — the combination is chosen for your situation, your goals and your medical history, and reviewed as you respond.
Your part in it
We put weight on clear communication and self-management. You should leave knowing what we think is going on, what to do between visits, and what would make us change the plan. We cannot guarantee a particular result or timeline. If your markers are not moving after a fair trial, we would rather change the approach, or suggest a medical review, than repeat the same treatment.
Arranging an appointment
The clinic works by appointment. Please WhatsApp or call us to arrange or change a visit, and tell us your main symptom, when you would like to come, and any recent medical details that may be relevant.
Assessment-led modern acupuncture at our Yau Ma Tei physiotherapy clinic, using single-use sterile needles alongside active rehabilitation where appropriate.
Lower back pain that limits sitting, bending, work or sleep? Our Yau Ma Tei physiotherapists assess your symptoms, movement and daily load, then agree an individual plan with you.
Neck pain, a stiff neck or headaches linked to neck tension? Our Yau Ma Tei physiotherapists assess your symptoms, movement, work setup and sleep before agreeing a plan with you.
